Wilson Carpentry has been in business since 1999. Before I started this business I completed two years of Building Trades Vocational Schooling at Southeastern Career Center in Versailles, IN.
After graduation I was employed by a remodeling company in North Vernon for the summer. I then went to James A. Shoaf Construction where I started on the framing crew. The work also included all types of exterior siding, roofing, forming and pouring basements when I was needed. I worked my way up to the interior trim and cabinets where I found my favorite part of the building process. I then took over the warranty work. That entailed going back into finished houses to fix things homeowners wanted or needed corrected.
I learned so much over the 7 years working for Jim. The most valuable thing was the way he took care of the customers. I remember calling and asking him about several things the owners wanted fixed, but the items were not under the warranty coverages. Jim said "take care of everything on the list" with out hesitation. The owners were extremely happy to get home and see that everything was taken care of. That is the way I pattern my business. I will go the extra mile to do a COMPLETE and QUALITY job. I know customers will appreciate the extra effort.
Although I have been and still am involved in all parts on home building and remodeling, I really enjoy the interior trim and cabinet part of construction. I install kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity's and other types of woodworking jobs for Joslin's Cabinet Co. in Columbus, IN. They are very easy to work with and have a wide selection of cabinets.
